If there is an online shop preparing for the arrival of our Robot Overlords I think The Dept is that store. With the tag line “Androids Always Win”, what else can these purveyors of t-shirts be readying themselves for? The brand sells graphic tees that have a throwback design that seem to favor graphics of the 70’s and early 80’s sci-fi shows. I’m particularly reminded of classic Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers TV shows, which I don’t think I’m too far off, because one doesn’t have to look no further then this tee featuring their Android mascot flying a BSG Viper.

This Control 71 tee also keeps in the tradition of 70’s graphics representation of the future with a control panel image, which could be a symbolic representation of an 8 track player or maybe a tricorder from classic Star Trek. Look at it, tell me it doesn’t have a tricorder essence to it.

Lastly, for me, there is this Rollerball Six tee that has the number 6 in the font style that was considered futuristic back in the day when I was a kid, and which is still a pretty cool font for our digital age.

In my opinion, one could call their tees nouveau classic geek, because I can see the design influences of those times shining through in their graphic tees. So if you’re looking for tees that have retro graphics with some classic sci-fi flourishes in the design then check out those android printing proprietors at The Dept shop. Consequently, and a first for me, they are giving away free Androids Always Win baseball pendants with the purchase of a t-shirt. Hmm, I think they are preparing us for our Robot Overlords. In addition, I noticed a coupon code on the site which you can use to get an additional discount on your orders.
